What a Shock
As with many older folks, I remember Van Halen as a great rock band. Eddie was the heart of the band; young, handsome, and enormously talented. I was shocked to find this picture of him today. I guess this is what a lifetime of hard drug use does to you.
I admit I'm horrified. I can't see any of the old Eddie VanHalen in this picture. I see a man who looks years older than me and utterly dissipated. It's really sad.

Don't know much about Van Halen, or the music.
Have you decided to move out of your daughters place though?
Or do you want to watch her go that route also?
Nothing you can do for her you know being as you don't seem to be good at tough love.
It's best to seek your own peace.
Unfortunately I cannot afford to move out. She's way too old for tough love. She's got to find her path or she's lost for good.
I need to find a time to talk to her again after our last discussion a couple of days ago. I need to remind her of a few things she seems to be forgetting.
Don't give me that shit Leandra. No one is too old for tough love.
And don't give me the shit that you can't afford to move out, because it would be cheaper to move out if you would just check into what is available to you.
And you would have your own place in peace and quite.
Hon, you can't be her mother anymore, she is an adult and if she fucks it up that is her problem.
Just ferry your sad ass over here for a weekend and hold my hand and I will explain it all to you.
Or sit there crying in your pain, it's up to you.
Bring your own toothbrush and hairbrush as I like to brush hair.
Or stay home and whine, it's your choice even if it is the wrong one.
Just fucking stop whining because you make the wrong choices.
Hugs.
You can't...
Come over here....
And look into my eyes....
Right?
Maybe Eddie is one of those folks that wants to get to the end of his life all wore out and saying ....
"Boy, what a hell of a ride."
I know that I'm kind of like that. Only without the drugs and I suppose he is on them.
Sorry BBC, I was not ignoring you or your comments. I've been rebuilding my computer for days and days. It started going bad last week. I didn't know what was wrong. My daughter checked it out and told me my hard drive was about to go TU. *sigh*
So the past several days I've been working to rebuild the darned thing. We were supposed to begin in on Saturday, but something happened and my daughter passed out in the kitchen while getting herself a glass of water. She hit her head and shoulder on the counter. No. This time she wasn't drunk. The doctor doesn't know what caused it. She fainted three more times trying to get to the couch.
So I've been legitimately out of touch except for some email on my laptop from time to time.
I had forgotten that you live nearby. Who knows. I might take you up on that offer.
